SAN MATEO, Calif., — March 18, 2009 — Keynote® Systems (Nasdaq: KEYN), the global leader in on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the online experience, was honored with a Jolt Product Excellence Award in the highly competitive Mobile and Web Development category for its new innovative mobile testing tool – MITE (Mobile Interactive Testing Environment).

The prestigious Jolt Awards recognize those products that have jolted the industry with their significance and made the task of creating software faster, easier and more efficient. Winners are selected from among hundreds of qualified nominations by an esteemed panel of judges consisting of industry insiders, columnists and technology leaders.

“This year was a remarkably exciting year for the Jolt Awards because there were so many strong contenders in every category,” said Amber Ankerholz, SD West conference manager. “Keynote MITE’s selection in the Mobile and Web Development category puts it among an elite group of software development innovators.”

The Jolt Awards are presented by SD West and sponsored by Jolt Energy drinks. A complete list of the 19th annual Jolt Award winners is available at http://www.joltawards.com.

Keynote MITE was specifically selected for the category mobile and Web development tools and solutions for web-based and mobile and hand-held applications, including network management, application servers and infrastructure, and tools using open standards such as XML, SOAP and HTML.

Andrew Binstock presented the award to Keynote marketing manager Tim Murphy who was on hand for the ceremony. “We felt honored to be recognized in this very competitive category,” said Tim. “Winning the award reaffirms the pride we have for the hard work that went into developing MITE and the excitement we feel about its future. This certainly proves that we’re filling in a hole in the area of mobile Web testing.”

Keynote MITE

MITE is the industry’s first desktop testing tool that allows mobile developers to interactively test and validate mobile content over the Internet or live carrier networks, and across more than 1,600 mobile device profiles, in order to quickly understand the end user experience.

With new mobile devices coming out every day, mobile developers are challenged to create Web content that will perform correctly over mobile devices with varying capabilities, form factors and screen sizes. The added complexity of intricate carrier networks has further complicated the process. MITE solves these challenges by offering developers a cost-effective tool to test mobile content across thousands of device profiles conveniently from their desktops. As a result, mobile development teams can quickly deliver superior mobile content optimized for today’s diverse mobile devices.

“Mobile is the fastest growing mode of access for online content, and developers can’t wait to ensure their content is compatible across devices,” said Nisheeth Mohan, mobile product manager, Keynote Systems. “With MITE, Keynote is making it easy, fast, reliable and cost-effective to test and validate mobile content.”

Keynote MITE provides interactive testing and validation of mobile content right on the desktop. With Keynote MITE, users can:

  • Test and validate mobile content quickly and easily across multiple device profiles;
  • Reduce cost and time to market while helping to deliver a better end user experience;
  • Emulate more than 1,600 device profiles with 11,000 user agent strings;
  • Create new device and network profiles from the desktop for instantaneous feedback;
  • See download times for the entire page and all the redirections the browser took to download the mobile site;
  • Record and playback scripts with advanced scripting features such as conditioning coding;
